Ever wonder what it is like working for a Bitcoin-only company?
As more and more Bitcoin-only companies arise, lots of bitcoiners are considering leaving their traditional fiat job to work in Bitcoin.
I've held plenty of jobs in my life ranging from a pizza delivery driver in high school to Sr. Design Engineer. In the last few years, I transitioned full-time to Bitcoin and have been working for a Bitcoin-only company for over a year. There is a drastic difference between working for a fiat company vs working for a bitcoin-only company that I've outlined below so you can consider the benefits of joining the Bitcoin network full-time.
Mission Driven
Finding passion in your work is one of the greatest achievements as it leads to fulfillment and purpose.
Most bitcoiners align with the idea of separating money from the state. My employer, Bitcoin Magazine, is working towards hyperbitcoinization, which is a world in which Bitcoin is the standard for a global monetary system. Many other Bitcoin-only companies are working towards a similar mission. This initiative creates a culture that brings out the best in both yourself and the people around you, driving you to get up and out of bed every morning with an urgency to get to work.
In past fiat jobs I've held, I've never personally aligned with my employer's mission which always made it so hard to get out of bed in the morning because I was lacking purpose.
Coworkers
Arguably, one of the best perks of working for a Bitcoin-only company is working with other bitcoiners.
Many bitcoiners share similar sets of beliefs and values along the lines of self-sovereignty, responsibility, and freedom. Imagine showing up to a work meeting early because you are excited to talk to other bitcoiners about Bitcoin, news, shared values, etc. Do you know the feeling of talking to a coworker next to the water cooler about trivial nonsense? Yeah, I've experienced that plenty of times in past fiat jobs and have yet to be put in that dreary situation while working for a bitcoin-only company.
If you spend one-third of your day working, it might as well be with people you enjoy being around and talking to.
