Today’s newsletter is slightly off topic as it describes 3 lessons I learned about career choices while breaking free from corporate America to work in the Bitcoin industry:

When I quit my previous engineering job, I was forced to find my passion.
It was unsettling not having a bi-weekly paycheck. Abandoning the career path I worked towards my whole life. Worrying about how my family, friends, colleagues were judging me. Honestly, the whole thing was really challenging—mentally and emotionally.
2+ years later, I recently found my passion - Bitcoin. One of the best realizations of my life. But the journey was tough.
Here’s what those difficult years taught me about career choices:
Lesson 1: Do NOT Get Comfortable
Back then, I used to challenge myself constantly both physically and mentally.
Despite being too comfortable in my old engineering job.
The only difference between then and now is I constantly push myself out of my comfort zone in my new job, which fuels my passion.
Lesson 2: Your Network is Your Net Worth
For the first few jobless months, all I had was a small amount of savings and a few friends interested in Bitcoin.
Since then, I’ve built up an incredible network with some of the biggest names in the bitcoin industry. My network continues to grow and new opportunities arise daily.
I learned networking opens up new opportunities which leads to more higher paying career options.
Lesson 3: Take Advice From The RIGHT People
After college, a lot of people around me said:
"Climb the corporate ladder to make an honorable living for yourself."
But then I’d watch them struggle to make progress in their own lives. I started paying attention to WHO was giving me advice and IF that advice was worth listening to considering my goals in life.
A big part of success is silencing the noise and going in a different direction.
